QuizTime (110): Through Which Prophet, Allah resurrected an entire village in front of his eyes?

QuizTime (110): Through Which Prophet, Allah resurrected an entire village in front of his eyes?

Ans: Prophet Hizqeel(pbuh) & Village name called: “Damardan."

Allah Resurrects the Dead Through Ezekiel:

According to Ibn Abbas, this place was called "Damardan." Its people were inflicted with plague, so they fled, while a group of them who remained in the village perished. The Angel of Death called to the survivors: "Die you all," and they perished. After a long time a prophet called Ezekiel passed by them and stood wondering over them, twisting his jaws and fingers. Allah revealed to him: "Do you want Me to show you how I bring them back to life? He said: "Yes." His idea was to marvel at the power of Allah over them. A voice said to him: "Call: 'O you bones, Allah commands you to gather up.'" The bones began to fly one to the other until they became skeletons. Then Allah revealed to him to say; "Call: 'O you bones, Allah commands you to put on flesh and blood and the clothes in which they had died.'" And a voice said: "Allah commands you to call the bodies to rise." And they rose. When they returned to life they said: "Blessed are You, O Lord, and all praises is Yours." Ibn 'Abbas reported that the dead who were resurrected were four thousand, while Ibn Salih said they were nine thousand.

QuizTime (109): Who was that man responsible for caused injuring Mohammed (saw) face and breaking one of his right lower teeth?

QuizTime (109): Who was that man responsible for caused injuring Mohammed (saw) face and breaking one of his right lower teeth?

Ans: Abu `Amir Ar-Rahib(May Allah cruse be upon him). Ameen.

There was a man from Al-Khazraj called "Abu `Amir Ar-Rahib (the Monk).'' This man embraced Christianity before Islam and read the Scriptures. During the time of Jahiliyyah, Abu `Amir was known for being a worshipper and being a notable person among Al-Khazraj. When the Messenger of Allah arrived at Al-Madinah after the Hijrah, the Muslims gathered around him and the word of Islam was triumphant on the day of Badr, causing Abu `Amir, the cursed one, to choke on his own saliva and announce his enmity to Islam. He fled from Al-Madinah to the idolators of Quraysh in Makkah to support them in the war against the Messenger of Allah .

The Quraysh united their forces and the bedouins who joined them for the battle of Uhud, during which Allah tested the Muslims, but the good end is always for the pious and righteous people. The rebellious Abu `Amir dug many holes in the ground between the two camps, into one of which the Messenger fell, injuring his face and breaking one of his right lower teeth. He also sustained a head injury.

Before the fighting started, Abu `Amir approached his people among the Ansar and tried to convince them to support and agree with him. When they recognized him, they said, "May Allah never burden an eye by seeing you, O Fasiq one, O enemy of Allah!'' They cursed him and he went back declaring, "By Allah! Evil has touched my people after I left.'' The Messenger of Allah called Abu `Amir to Allah and recited the Qur'an to him before his flight to Makkah, but he refused to embrace Islam and rebelled. The Messenger invoked Allah that Abu `Amir die as an outcast in an alien land, and his invocation came true.

QuizTime(108): Umar (RA) became a Muslim after listening to the beginning of which surah?

QuizTime(108): Umar (RA) became a Muslim after listening to the beginning of which surah?

Ans : Surah Ta-ha Ch 20 of the Qur'an.

Following verse:

Ta-Ha. We have not sent down the Quran to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, But only as an admonition to those who fear Allah (Qur'an 20:1-3)

He was astounded. It was as if the Qur'an was addressing him directly!

As Umar R.A was reciting Qur'an (Surah Ta-ha), his heart began to melt down. He began to cry.

He then went straight to the house of the Prophet . Once he was admitted in the house, the Prophet asked him for the reason of his visit.

His religious knowledge and the Prophet's praise of him:

Allah, the Magnificent and Glorified, had willed goodness for `Umar may Allah be pleased with him and thus rendered him well versed in the religion and enriched him with knowledge. Many scholars have compiled numerous narrations of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) regarding Umar's knowledge and other virtues. Among these narrations, four were reported by Imaam Az-Zuhri may Allah have mercy upon him:

The first was where the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) said: “While I was sleeping, I saw in a dream that a cup full of milk was brought to me, and I drank (from it) until I saw the milk coming out of my nails. Then I gave the remaining milk to `Umar.” The Companions may Allah be pleased with them asked: ‘What did you interpret it (i.e., this dream) to mean?’ He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) replied: “(Religious) knowledge.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Imam Ahmad (17405), at-Tirmidhi (3686) and al-Haakim (4495) narrated via Mishrah ibn Haa ‘aan, from ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: “If there were to be a Prophet after me, it would be ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab.”.

QuizTime (107): She was known to be the most protected woman in Arabia, as she hung fifty swords of her close relatives in her home?

Ans: “Fatimah bint Rabiah”, she known as “Umm Qirfah Al-Fazaariyyah”

In 6 A.H., Zaid ibn Haritha was sent to Wadi al-Qura at the head of a detachment to confront Fatimah bint Rabiah, the queen of that area. Fatimah had previously attacked a caravan led by Zaid and had succeeded in plundering its wealth. She was known to be the most protected woman in Arabia, as she hung fifty swords of her close relatives in her home. Fatimah was equally renowned for showing open hostility to Islam. She was killed in a battle against these Muslims in the month of Ramadan.

“An expedition led by Abu Bakr As-Siddiq or Zaid bin Haritha was despatched to Wadi Al-Qura in Ramadan 6 Hijri after Fazara sept had made an attempt at the Prophet’s life. Following the Morning Prayer, the detachment was given orders to raid the enemy. Some of them were killed and others captured. Amongst the captives, were Umm Qirfa and her beautiful daughter, who was sent to Makkah as a ransom for the release of some Muslim prisoners there. Umm Qirfa’s attempts at the Prophet’s life recoiled on her, and the thirty horsemen she had gathered and sustained to implement her evil scheme were all killed.”

QuizTime(106): The Qur'an mentions 7 oft-repeated verses. Which Surah it is referring to?

QuizTime(106): The Qur'an mentions 7 oft-repeated verses. which Surah it is referring to?

Ans: Soorat al-Faatihah

Soorat al-Faatihah is the best of the soorahs of the Qur’an; in fact it is the best of all that Allah, may He be exalted, revealed to the Messengers. Al-Bukhaari (4474) narrated from Abu Sa‘eed al-Mu‘alla (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said to him: “I will surely teach you a soorah that is the greatest soorah in the Qur’an…” Then he said: “Al-hamdu Lillahi Rabb al-‘Aalameen... It is the seven oft-repeated verses and the Glorious Qur’an that I have been given (cf. al-Hijr 15:87).”

At-Tirmidhi (2857) narrated from Ubayy ibn Ka‘b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, nothing like it has been revealed in the Torah or in the Gospel or in the Psalms or in al-Furqaan. Verily it is the seven oft-repeated verses and the Glorious Qur’an that I have been given.”

Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi.

And Surah Fatihah mandatory to recite in every prayer, even while offering behind the imam otherwise prayers will become invalid.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever offers a prayer in which he does not recite Umm al-Kitaab (i.e., al-Faatihah), it is defective” – and he said it three times. It was said to Abu Hurayrah, (What if) we are behind the imam? He said, Recite it to yourself....(Sahi Muslim)

QuizTime (105): Who was that person, bewitched (done a magic on) Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) & how He did?

QuizTime (105): Who was that person, bewitched (done a magic on) Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) & how He did?

Ans: Labeed ibn Al-A’sam(May Allah cruse upon him)  & He used comb and hair of Prophet(pbuh) & outer skin of the pollen of a male date-palm.

The Prophet(pbuh) was bewitched by Labeed ibn Al-A’sam, who had strong relations with the Jews, and the Jews requested his assistance due to him being renowned for his experience in magic.

The Prophet (pbuh)   was afflicted by this magic for six months. He (pbuh)   would think that he was sleeping with his wives while in fact he was not. He (pbuh)   persevered through this period, and when he feared that it would affect his zeal for worship, he (pbuh)   supplicated to Allah, asking Him to remove it from him.

A’ishah (r.a)  narrated: “Magic was done on the Prophet (pbuh)   so he began to think that he was doing things that he was not actually doing. One day, he (pbuh)   invoked (Allah) for a long period and then said: "I feel that Allah has inspired me as how to cure myself. Two persons came to me (in a dream) and sat down, one by my head and the other by my feet. One of them asked the other: 'What is the sickness of this man?' The other replied: 'He has been bewitched.' The first asked: 'Who has bewitched him?' The other replied: 'Labeed ibn Al-A'sam.' The first one asked: 'What materials did he use?' The other replied: 'A comb, the hair gathered on it, and the outer skin of the pollen of a male date-palm.' The first asked: 'Where are they?' The other replied: 'In the well of Tharwan.'"

So the Prophet (pbuh)   headed out towards the well. He later returned and said to me: "The date-palms (i.e., the ones on the well) are like the heads of devils."

I asked: 'Did you take out those things with which the magic was done?' He (pbuh)   replied: "No, for I have been cured by Allah, and I am afraid that this action may spread evil amongst the people." Later on the well was filled up with earth." [Al-Bukhari]

The hair that was on the comb was taken, and a knot was made in which the magic was placed; then, the hair that contained the magic was placed inside the outer skin of the pollen of a male date-palm, and this was placed under a rock, inside the well. When some

Companions (r.a) went to remove this magic from the well, they found that its water was the colour of Henna, due to the effect of magic on it.

The Prophet (pbuh)   was inspired by Allah as to where the location of the magic was; it was removed and the knot was undone, so the magic was ruined.

Quiz time (104): Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) said “This (man) is of me and I am of him”. Who was that Man?

Quiz time (104): Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) said  “This (man) is of me and I am of him”. Who was that Man?

Ans: Julaybeeb (R.A). “This (man) is of me and I am of him.”

Three statements are different in wording:

Regarding Ali(r.a):  Prophet(pbuh) said “You are of me and I am of you.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 2699.

Regarding Husayn(R.a): Prophet(pbuh) Said “Husayn is part of me and I am part of him.” Tirmidhi (3775), Ibn Maajah (144) and Ahmad (17111).

The above statement for Ali and Husayn(May Allah please with them), it shows both were alive and Prophet directly referred “Ali” (R.a) as “You” and Name of the Husayn(r.a) was mentioned.  But for Julaybeeb(r.a), Prophet(pbuh) was made this statement for him by addressing others  after he was martyred in a battle. So there are differences in all three statements.

And how was Julaybib(r.a) killed? He went on an expedition with the Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam), peace be upon him, and an encounter with some mushrikin (polytheists) ensued. When the battle was over, the Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) asked his companions: “Have you lost/missing anyone?” They replied giving the names of their relatives or close friends who were killed. He put the same questions to other companions and they also named the ones they had lost in the battle. Another group answered that they had lost no close relatives whereupon the Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: “But I have lost Julaybib. Search for him in the battlefield.

They searched and found him beside seven mushrikin whom he had struck before meeting his end. The Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) stood up and went to the spot where Julaybib, his short and deformed companion, lay. He stood over him (stood by his side) and said: “He killed seven and then was killed? This (man) is of me and I am of him.” He repeated this two or three times. The Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) then took him in his arms and it is said that he had no better bed besides the forearms of the Messenger of Allah. The Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) then dug for him a grave and himself placed him in it. He did not wash him for martyrs and not washed before burial.[ Sahih Muslim, 2472]

Julaybib and his wife are not usually among the Companions of the Prophet whose deeds are sung and whose exploits are recounted with reverence and admiration as they should be.
