QuizTime(196) Who would have been that Sahabi would have received the divine guidance though He was not a prophet of Allah ?

QuizTime(196) Who would have been that Sahabi would have received  the divine guidance though He was not a prophet of Allah ?

Ans:  Umar(r.a)

Whether the angels whisper or inspire ordinary human beings, etc., there are two categories of inspirations:

That which means audible inspiration from Allah Almighty. This is limited to prophets and messengers (may peace be upon them all). Allah says: {Lo! We inspired thee as We had inspired Noah and the prophets after him…}[4:163].

Yet, an angel might address partially some of the believers. Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his "Madarij As-Salikeen 1/460): This (inspiration, whisper) may take place with people other than prophets. Angels used to say Salaam to (salute) Imran Ibn Hussain , but when he practiced cauterization they no more saluted him. Yet, after he left cauterization they resumed their conversation with him.

This inspiration is, in turn, of two kinds:

First:  dialogue(of angles) that can be heard by the ear, which is very rare for the ordinary believers.

Second:  whisper that is thrown to the believer's heart by which the angel addresses his soul, as in the well-known Hadith (Prophet's saying): Verily the angel has (his share of) effect in the son of Adam's heart, as the devil has his share in it…etc. He also mentioned some examples. This second kind of inspiration constitutes the second category, as in Allah's Saying: {And thy Lord inspired the bee...}[16:68].

The first meaning mentioned by Ibn Al-Qayyim is evidenced by the Prophet's Hadith:

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Amongst the people preceding you there used to be 'Muhaddithun' (i.e. persons who can guess things that come true later on, as if those persons have been inspired by a divine power), and if there are any such persons amongst my followers, it is `Umar bin Al-Khattab.

[Sahi Bukhari Hadith 3469]

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, Among the nations before you there used to be people who were inspired (though they were not prophets). And if there is any of such a persons amongst my followers, it is 'Umar. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Among the nation of Bani Israel who lived before you, there were men who used to be inspired with guidance though they were not prophets, and if there is any of such persons amongst my followers, it is 'Umar(r.a)

[Sahi Bukhari Hadith 3689]

QuizTime(195) Why Prophet(saw) compared some of his Army men with people of Musa(pbuh) when they ask Musa to make one god for them?

QuizTime(195) Why Prophet(saw) compared some of his Army men with people of Musa(pbuh) when they ask  Musa to make one god for them?

Ans: They ask make Nabk plant, Dhat-Anwat (the one with suspenders) to take as good omens. (Such belief is Shirk in Islam)

On their way to Hunain they saw a great green Nabk plant, that was called Dhat-Anwat (the one with suspenders). That was because the Arabs used to hang their weapons on it, slay beasts under it and keep to it. So some of army members asked the Messenger of Allâh (peace be upon him) to make them a Nabk with suspenders as the one they had. “Allâh is the Greatest of all!” He said, “I swear by the One in Whose Hand is Muhammad’s soul, that you have just said what the people of Moses said to him. They said ‘Make us a god as the one they have.’ Surely you are ignorant people. These are Sunnah, but you will follow and comply with the modes of life of those who preceded you.”[Ar Raheeq Al Makhtum [The Sealed Nectar] page no: 203]  & [Tirmidhi Hadith 2180]

Moses' People Desire an Idol – Quranic

Allah the Exalted revealed:

"And We brought the Children of Israel (with safety) across the sea, and they came upon a people devoted to some of their idols (in worship). They said: "O Mûsa (Moses)! Make for us an ilâhan (a god) as they have âliha (gods)." He said: "Verily, you are a people who know not (the Majesty and Greatness of Allâh and what is obligatory upon you, i.e. to worship none but Allâh Alone, the One and the Only God of all that exists)."

[Mûsa (Moses) added:] "Verily, these people will be destroyed for that which they are engaged in (idols-worship). And all that they are doing is in vain." He said: "Shall I seek for you an Ilâhan (a God) other than Allâh, while He has given you superiority over the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinns of your time)." And (remember) when We rescued you from Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, who were afflicting you with the worst torment, killing your sons and letting your women live. And in that was a great trial from your Lord."

QuizTime(194)Which Verse of the Qur’an, Abu Bakr(r.a) recited to the people after on the news of death of Prophet Muhammed(pbuh)?

QuizTime(194)Which Verse of the Qur’an, Abu Bakr(r.a) recited to the people after on the news of death of Prophet Muhammed(pbuh)?

Ans: [Qur’an ch 3 verse 144 ]

“Muḥammad is no more than a messenger; other messengers have gone before him. If he were to die or to be killed, would you regress into disbelief? Those who do so will not harm Allah whatsoever. And Allah will reward those who are grateful.”

He Also recited {Indeed, you are to die, and indeed, they are to die.} [Quran 39:30]

The Sahih, Musnad and Sunan collections gathered various chains of narration stating that Abu Bakr recited this Ayah when the Messenger of Allah died. Al-Bukhari recorded that `A'ishah said that Abu Bakr came riding his horse from his dwelling in As-Sunh. He dismounted, entered the Masjid and did not speak to anyone until he came to her ﴿in her room and went directly to the Prophet, who was covered with a marked blanket. Abu Bakr uncovered his face, knelt down and kissed him, then started weeping and proclaimed, "My father and my mother be sacrificed for you! Allah will not combine two deaths on you. You have died the death, which was written for you.''

Ibn `Abbas narrated that Abu Bakr then came out, while `Umar was addressing the people, and Abu Bakr told him to sit down but `Umar refused, and the people attended to Abu Bakr and left `Umar. Abu Bakr said, "To proceed; whoever among you worshipped Muhammad, then Muhammad is dead, but whoever worshipped Allah, Allah is alive and will never die. Allah said,

(Muhammad is no more than a Messenger and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; and Allah will reward the grateful.)''

The narrator added, "By Allah, it was as if the people never knew that Allah had revealed this verse before until Abu Bakr recited it, and then whoever heard it, started reciting it.'' Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib said that `Umar said, "By Allah! When I heard Abu Bakr recite this Ayah, my feet could not hold me, and I fell to the ground.''

Ans:  Imraan ibn Husayn Al-Khuzaa‘i Al-Ka‘bi Al-Basri(r.a).

His  surname was Abu Nujayd, was a prominent Companion who converted to Islam in the year of Khaybar (7 AH), and he participated with the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, in several battles, and he held the banner of his tribe, the Khuzaa‘ah.

QuizTime(193) In the dream’s of the Prophet[pbuh] heard which Sahabi’s Qur’an recitation in the Jannah ?

Ans: Harithah Ibn Al-Nu’man[r.a]

Hārithah ibn al-Nu‘mān was one of the companions of the Prophet, sallā Allāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam. He was an Ansārī (from Madinah) who participated in all battles, which the Prophet sallā Allāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam participated. However, Hārithah ibn al-Nu‘mān is known for a few good tidings which the Prophet, ṣallā Allāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam, conveyed to him. He’s going to be one of the Qur’ān reciters in the Paradise. This is not only a good news, but an outstanding prestige, for the Qur’ān is the only book of Allāh that will be recited in the Paradise.

What Made Harithah Ibn Al-Nu’man(r.a) A Qur’an Reciter In Paradise?

‘Aa’ishah who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “I slept and I dreamt that I was in Paradise, and I heard the voice of someone reciting. I said: ‘Who is this?’ They said: ‘This is Haarithah ibn an-Nu‘maan.’” And the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Such is kindness to parents, such is kindness to parents.” And he was the one who honoured his mother the most among the people.

[ Ahmad (25182) and an-Nasaa’i in as-Sunan al-Kubra (8176) ]

Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in as-Saheehah (913).

They were especially devoted to their parents, as Aa،ishah(r.a)  recalled, "Two of the Companions of the Prophet(pbuh)  were the most dutiful in this nation to their mothers: ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan(r.a)    and Harithah ibn An-Nuaman(r.a). ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan(r.a)    said: 'Ever since I became a Muslim, I never dared to look my mother in the eye' and as for Harithah Ibn An-Nuaman(r.a)    he used to feed his mother with his own hands and would never ask her to repeat herself if he did not understand her words, but rather, he would ask those with him in the room after she left."

Hārithah radiya Allāhu ‘anhu used to show kindness towards his mother. And this is what entitled him for such an honorable position in the Paradise. Those of us, who have children and parents at the same time, know very well, that there's a significant difference between caring for one’s children and caring for his parents, especially when they are aged.

QuizTime(191) who was that young emissary Sahabi tortured to death for refused to believe in Musaylamah?

QuizTime(191) who was that young emissary Sahabi tortured to death for refused to believe in  Musaylamah?

Ans: Habib ibn Zayd al-Ansari(R.a)

Was one of the first persons in Yathrib to accept Islam and his mother, the celebrated Nusaybah bint Kab known as Umm Ammarah, was the first woman to bear arms in defence of Islam and in support of the blessed Prophet.

At Aqabah, in the darkness of the night, the young Habib stretched out his small hand and pledged loyalty to the Prophet. From that day, the Prophet, peace and blessings of God on him, became dearer to Habib than his own mother or father and Islam became more important to him than any care for his personal safety.

The Prophet chose Habib ibn Zayd to take this letter to Musaylamah. Habib was by this time in the prime of his youth and a firm believer in the truth of Islam with every fibre of his being.

Habib undertook his mission eagerly and proceeded as quickly as he could to the highlands of the Najd, the territory of the Banu Hanilab. He presented the letter to Musaylamah.

Musaylamah was convulsed with bitter rage. His face was terrible to behold. He ordered Habib to be put in chains and to be brought back before him the following day.

On the following day, Musaylamah presided over his assembly. On his right and on his left were his senior advisers, there to further his evil cause. The common people were allowed to enter. He then ordered Habib, shackled in his chains, to be brought before him.

Habib stood in the midst of this crowded, hate-filled gathering. He remained upright, dignified and proud like a sturdy spear firmly implanted in the ground, unyielding.

Musaylamah turned to him and asked: "Do you testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of God?" "Yes," Habib replied. "I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of God."

Musaylamah was visibly angry. "And do you testify that I am the Messenger of God?" He was almost insisting, rather than questioning. "My ears have been blocked against hearing what you claim," replied Habib.

Musaylamah's face changed color, his lips trembled in anger and he shouted to his executioner, "Cut off a piece of his body."

With sword in hand, the menacing executioner advanced towards Habib and severed one of his limbs.

Musaylamah then put the same question to him once more and Habib's answers were the same. He affirmed his belief in Muhammad as the Messenger of God and at the expense of his own life he refused to acknowledge the messengership of any other. Musaylamah thereupon ordered his henchman to cut off another part of Habib's body. This fell to the ground beside the other severed limb. The people looked on in amazement at Habib's composure and steadfastness.

Faced with Musaylamah's persistent questioning and the terrible blows of his henchman, Habib kept on repeating:

"I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of God." Habib could not survive this torture and these inhuman atrocities much longer and he soon passed away. On his pure lips, as his life-blood ebbed away, was the name of the blessed Prophet to whom he had pledged loyalty on the night of Aqabah, the name of Muhammad, the Messenger of God.

News of Habib's fate reached his mother and her reaction was simply to say: "It was for such a situation that I prepared him... He pledged allegiance to the Prophet on the night of Aqabah as a small child and today as an adult he has given his life for the Prophet. If God were to allow me to get near to Musaylamah, I would certainly make his daughters smite their cheeks and lament over him."

QuizTime(190) Which Sahabi was asked to disbelieve in Prophet(pbuh) to get his own money from his debtor & Qur’an verses revealed?

Ans:  Khabbab bin Al-Aratt(r.a)

Khabbab reported that Al-`As b. Wa'il owed debt to me. I came to him in order to demand that. He said: I will never repay you unless you belie Muhammad. I said: I would never belie Muhammad until you die and you are again raised up. He said: When I would be raised up after death, I would repay your debt when I would get my property and children back. Waki` said: This is how Al-A`mash has narrated and it was on this occasion that this verse was revealed: Hast thou seen him who disbelieves in Our message and says: I shall certainly be given wealth and children (xix, 77) up to he would come to Us alone (xix, 80).

[Sahi Muslim Hadith 7062, Sahi Bukhari Hadith 2091,  2425 & Trimidhi Hadith 3162]

“Have you seen him who denied Our revelations, and said, “I will be given wealth and children”?  Did he look into the future, or did he receive a promise from the Most Merciful? No indeed! We will write what he says, and will keep extending the agony for him.  Then We will inherit from him what he speaks of, and he will come to Us alone.”

[Al-Qur’an ch 19 Verse 77-80]

Imam Ahmad reported from Khabbab bin Al-Aratt that he said, "I was a blacksmith and Al-'As bin Wa'il owed me a debt. So I went to him to collect my debt from him. He said to me, `No, by Allah, I will not pay my debt to you until you disbelieve in Muhammad.' I replied to him, `No, by Allah, I will not disbelieve in Muhammad until you die and are resurrected again.' He then said to me, `Verily, if I die and am resurrected, and you come to me, I will also have abundance of wealth and children and I will repay you then.' Then, Allah revealed these Ayat, (Have you seen him who disbelieved in Our Ayat and said: "I shall certainly be given wealth and children.'') until,  (and he shall come to Us alone.)

QuizTime(189) Allah spoken to which martyred sahabi face to face without any veil between them ?

QuizTime(189)  Allah spoken to  which martyred sahabi face to face without any veil between them ?

Ans: Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Haram(R.a).

“When ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Haram was killed, on the Day of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah () said: ‘O Jabir, shall I not tell you what Allah said to your father?’ I said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Allah does not speak to anyone except from behind a screen, but He spoke to your father face to face and said: “O My slave, ask Me and I shall give you.” He said: “O my Lord, bring me back to life so that I may be killed for Your sake a second time.” He said: “I have already decreed that they will not return (to the world after death).” He said: “O Lord, convey (the good news about my state) to those whom I have left behind.” So Allah revealed this Verse: ‘Think not of those as dead who are killed in the way of Allah.’”[3:169]

[Sunna ibn Maja vol 4 Hadith 2800]

a. Seeing Allah in Paradise is real. The dwellers of Paradise, according to their grades, will be blessed by this bounty.

b. This incident gives the good news that Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Haram  is among the dwellers of Paradise, and he secures the high grades of it.

“Think not of those as dead who are killed in the way of Allah. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision.” [Al-Qur’an ch 3 Verse 169]

Allah states that even though the martyrs were killed in this life, their souls are alive and receiving provisions in the Dwelling of Everlasting Life. In his Sahih, Muslim recorded that Masruq said, "We asked `Abdullah about this Ayah, He said, `We asked the Messenger of Allah the same question and he said,

(Their souls are inside green birds that have lamps, which are hanging below the Throne (of Allah), and they wander about in Paradise wherever they wish. Then they return to those lamps. Allah looks at them and says, `Do you wish for anything' They say, `What more could we wish for, while we go wherever we wish in Paradise' Allah asked them this question thrice, and when they realize that He will keep asking them until they give an answer, they say, `O Lord! We wish that our souls be returned to our bodies so that we are killed in Your cause again.' Allah knew that they did not have any other wish, so they were left.)''' There are several other similar narrations from Anas and Abu Sa`id.”
