"INTENTIONS AREN'T ENOUGH!”

PARTICIPATING IN NON-MUSLIM FESTIVALS.

ARGUMENT BETWEEN TWO MUSLIMS FRIENDS: (will be referred “A” & “M”)

Working in a MNC, as it free and open culture environment. On a head of every festive they announcement its celebration and ask the employees to dress up in a traditional. It’s not mandatory to wear or to dress up such way, there is no compulsion.

Just a recently on head of Festival same Management declared to dress up in a traditional way for the celebration, For Being Muslim not allowed to celebrate non Islamic festival.  Brother “A” came office with normal dress but Brother “M” He well dressed up, groomed well, Shave/ Trimmed, looking nice etc… MashAllah.

When “M” saw “A” got shocked and asked what you have wore today?

“A”: Just replied formally about this dress (Didn’t thought actually He questing on not wearing traditional) and “A” put the counter question “you wore traditional today, are you celebrating the Festival and it’s not allowed in Islam”

“M”: Reply “I just wore out of Choice, Does I can’t wear?

“A”: Brother “A” Ignored might be he already made a choice to wear it and probably didn’t know about the festive.

Later it found that “M” wore traditional dress actual well planned with this team Mate(Non-Muslims) and decided to wear particular color dress and design to matches this whole team attire for an exclusive day.

Brother “A” raised a question on this attire for the particular day in a gently way and

Brother “M” in no time lost his temper and went on justifying saying that “My Intention Allah knows it and don’t raise finger on my Emaan” “You can’t judge Me” “You don’t know My Intention, I will answerable to Allah” “I wear because there are holidays coming after the day. Even He wants “personal Remarks as well”.
.He(M) didn’t prove anything from the Qur’an and Sunnah to justified his stand.

LETS ANALYSIS BASED ON THE QUR’AN AND SUNNAH.

Allah says in the Qur’an Ch 3 Verse 64 “…We worship Non but Allah…” Just believing is not enough beside to have Faith, Emaan, we have to worship Allah. If having Intention is enough for everything, there is no point of offer Salah, going for Hajj, Giving Charity, fasting as there is no need of it.

“Basic point is your intention believing in Allah is enough rest doesn’t matter”

In that case “Drinking Alcohol, having intention of drinking water” Does this act make it permissible? No!

Same “While doing Zina, Having intention that making love with spouse” Does this act make it permissible?

Does such Intention hold any weight? Not at all. I can give many examples.

And believe me, many Muslim girls and Boys use this Evil logic to hide their evil work or back their Harram activities. This Evil concept of Intention more matches with “Christianity Faith or Paul Faith”

“Believe have intentions that Jesus Crucified on the cross for the sin of humanity” and all your Sin will be forgiven.

“Believe, have intentions that you Believe in Allah and you have Emaan” All your Harram action is not Harram.

Its look like These Muslims More influenced from the “Chsirtianity/ paultianity”. The Hadith of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh).

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, hand span by hand span, cubit by cubit, until even if they entered the hole of a lizard, you will do so too.” We asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said, “Who else?” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3269; Muslim, 2669).

INTENTIONS AND ACTION:

Muslim is the person who submits this will to Allah. The Intention and Action should go hand by hand, if the Intention and action contradict then called hypocrisy in general (there are some exception).

When you know about the certain action, you have knowledge of it, no one is forcing you, one lied to you, you are not under compulsion to participate / about the event and you did it by well planned and executed and asking not to judge! It’s clear what he did.

This Evil intention concept Seems, reversed concept of Munafiqs.

If you read the Qur’an ch 4 Verse 142 “The Hypocrites - they think they are over-reaching Allah, but He will over-reach them: When they stand up to prayer, they stand without earnestness, to be seen of men, but little do they hold Allah in remembrance;”

The Munafiq were seems are good in actions in front in many times, they fast, they pray, etc…. but their intentions were corrupted, they don’t have any faith in Islam, its just to show off. Its Allah exposed their munafiqat.

What we many Muslims are doing we simply reversed the concept:

We are Lack, way behind in Actions and more on Intentions, Emaan, and We openly involves in lewdness and other side thumping on Status of our Emaan for justification of Harram acts. I say if anyone lack in actions is he/sh also lack in Emaan, because you can’t do UnIslamic actives having Heart Full Emaan.

I am not saying a person who participated in Non Muslims festivel immediatedly become Kafir, I don’thave any authority given takfir but He/ She is doing Harram certainly, if don’t have intention believing in Kufr faith.

Consensus, as Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy on him, said in Ahkaam Ahl al-Dhimmah: "Congratulating the kuffaar on the rituals that belong only to them is haraam by consensus, as is congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on. If the one who says this has been saved from kufr, it is still forbidden.

In general, (Muslims) are not allowed to single out the festivals of the kuffaar for any of these rituals or customs. Rather the day of their festivals is just an ordinary day for the Muslims, and they should not single it out for any activity that is part of what the kuffaar do on these days.

Conclusion:

I know there are lots of Muslims struggling hard in their daily life to become better Muslims (Including Me) to please Allah and We humans We bound to commit mistakes. This note for those who take Evil Actions for granted, start feeling nothing is Harram based on their invented evil “Emaan or Intention” Concept. Allah already warned against it Qur’an ch 31 Verse 33 “let not then this present life deceive you, nor let the chief Deceiver deceive you about Allah”

“O ye who believe! Enter into Islam whole-heartedly; and follow not the footsteps of the evil one; for he is to you an avowed enemy”
[Al-Qur’an Ch 2 Verse 208]

“And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) after the right path has been shown clearly to him and follows other than the believers' way. We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell - what an evil destination.”
[Al-Qur’an ch 4 Verses 115]

May Allah make us better Muslim and Make us to understanding of his Deen Ameen.

People were (sometimes) judged by the revealing of a Divine Inspiration during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle but now there is no longer any more (new revelation). Now we judge you by the deeds you practice publicly, so we will trust and favor the one who does good deeds in front of us, and we will not call him to account about what he is really doing in secret, for Allah will judge him for that; but we will not trust or believe the one who presents to us with an evil deed even if he claims that his intentions were good.
