QuizTime (17): What will be the Height & age of the people of Jannah?

Ans:  60 Cubits tall(90 feet) & 33 years old.

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah created Adam in his form, sixty cubits tall… and everyone who enters Paradise will be in the form of Adam, sixty cubits tall…”

With regard to their ages, they will all enter Paradise at the age of strength and youth, thirty-three years old. It was narrated from Mu’aadh ibn Jabal that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The people of Paradise will enter Paradise hairless, beardless with their eyes anointed with kohl, aged thirty or thirty-three years.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2545. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 7928

It was also narrated by Ahmad (8505) from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him), with the words “thirty three years old”, with no doubt.

Ahmad Shaakir said: its isnaad is hasan.

This applies to all the people of Paradise and we are not aware of any evidence that women are different from men in this regard.

O Allaah, we ask You for Paradise and the words and deeds that will bring us closer to it.

QuizTime(16): Which animal delivered Sulaiman's (pbuh) letter to the Queen of Sheba (Saba')?

QuizTime(16): Which animal delivered Sulaiman's (pbuh) letter to the Queen of Sheba (Saba')?

Ans: Hud-Hud took the letter to queen sheba(saba).

Among the birds, the hoopoe (hud-hud in Arabic) has been specifically mentioned twice in Surat An-Naml, in the following manner:

“And he sought among the birds and said: How is it that I see not the hoopoe, or is he among the absent?” (Surat An-Naml: 27:20).

“But the hoopoe tarried not far: he compassed (territory) which thou has not compassed and I have come to thee from Saba with tidings true.” (Surat An-Naml: 27:22).

The hoopoe is an elegant bird, which is related to the hornbill. It gets its unusual name from its shrill call of “hoops”, which rings clear and far and is repeated two or three times.

Story of Hud-Hud:

When he did not find the Hud-Hud in the ranks, Nabi Sulaimān (‘alayhis Salām) was extremely annoyed. However, the Hud-Hud after a brief absence made his appearance. His companions among the birds informed him of the anger of Nabi Sulaimān (‘alayhis Salām) and the threatened severe punishment.

Simultaneously, it looked at Nabi Sulaimān (‘alayhis Salām) and explained that it has come with such reliable news of which Nabi Sulaimān (‘alayhis Salām) was unaware.

The Hud-Hud continuing with its story said that it discovered in the City of Saba’, a Queen ruling over her people. It was a prosperous land. She had a massive, magnificent throne. She and her people were sun worshippers.

Prophet Solomon said, “ We shall just now see whether what you say is true, or that you are a liar. Take this letter of mine and cast it before them; then get aside and see what reaction they show.” (Qur’an: 27: 27-28).

Quiz Time (15) which animal/Bird Quraish regarded as one of their deities & Prophet (saw) himself destroyed its figure?

Quiz Time (15) which animal/Bird Quraish regarded as one of their deities & Prophet (saw) himself destroyed its figure?

Ans: Pigeon.

Prophet Muhammad (saw) orders the destruction of the idols:

The Muslim army entered the city unpretentiously and peacefully. No house was robbed, no man or woman was insulted. The Prophet granted a general amnesty to the entire population of Mecca. Only four criminals, whom justice condemned, were proscribed. He did however, order the destruction of all idols and pagan images of worship, upon which three hundred and fifty idols which were in the Sacred House of Ka'ba were thrown down. The Prophet himself destroyed a wooden pigeon hung from the roof and regarded as one of the deities of the Quraish. During the downfall of the images and idols he was heard to cry aloud: "Allah is great. Truth has come and falsehood has vanished; verily falsehood is fleeting." The old idolaters observed thoughtfully the destruction of their gods, which were utterly powerless. After the Prophet had abolished these pagan idols and every pagan rite, he delivered a sermon to the assembled people. He dwelt upon the natural brotherhood of man in the words of the Qur'an: (Ch 49:13 Quran).

Quiz time (14): What are the only things Allah created with his Hands directly?

Quiz time (14): What are the only things Allah created with his Hands directly?

Ans: The Throne, The Pen, Adam and Paradise(garden of Eden).

Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)said,” Allah created four things with His hands;  The Throne, The Pen, Adam and Paradise. Then for the rest of creation He simply said exist then it did.”

Collected by Al-Hakim in his Mustadarak (3244). Al-Hakim graded this hadeeth as being Saheeh. Imam Ath-Thahabee and Shaykh  Al-Albani(May Allah have mercy on them) both  agreed with this ruling as well.

Allah, may He be exalted, singled out Adam (peace be upon him) to create him with His hands, as He has told us, and He did not create any other animate being with His hands. Allah, may He be glorified, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“[Allah] said, ‘O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?’”

[Saad 38:75].

In the hadith of intercession, the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “I will be the leader of the people on the Day of Resurrection. Do you know why that is? Allah will gather together the first and the last in one plain, so that the onlooker will be able to see them and the caller will be able to make them hear. The sun will be brought close to them, And some of the people will say: ‘Do you not see the state you are in? Do you not see what has happened  to you. Why do you not look for someone who will intercede for you with your Lord?’ Some of the people will say, ‘[Go to] your father Adam.’ So they will go to him and say, ‘O Adam, you are the father of mankind, Allah created you with His own hand and breathed into you the soul that He had created for you, and commanded the angels to prostrate to you, and He caused you to dwell in Paradise. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in? Do you not see what has happened to us?’ [Adam] will say: ‘My Lord is angry today in a way in which He has never been angry before and will never be angry again. He forbade me to approach the tree, but I disobeyed Him. Myself, myself. Go to someone else, go to Nooh…’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3340) and Muslim (194).

Imam ad-Daarimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Allah created Adam with His hand directly; He did not create any other animate being with His hands. Thus He singled him out, favoured him and honoured him with that renown.

End quote from Naqd ad-Daarimi ‘ala al-Mureesi, p. 64

Ad-Daarimi, al-Laalkaa’i, al-Aajurri and others narrated with a saheeh isnad from Ibn ‘Umar that he said: Allah created four things with His hand: the Throne, the Pen, Eden and Adam. Then He said to the rest of creation: “Be,” and it was.

Ad-Daarimi narrated with a hasan isnad from Maysarah Abu Saalih, the freed slave of Kindah, one of the Taabi‘een, that he said: Allah did not directly handle anything of His creation except in three cases: He created Adam with His hand, he wrote the Torah with His hand, and He planted the Garden of Eden (Jannat ‘Adan) with His hand.

Naqd ad-Daarimi, p. 99. The commentator, Shaykh Mansoor as-Samaari, said in his introduction to the book: It was narrated from other Taabi‘een, such as Hakeem ibn Jaabir and Muhammad ibn Ka‘b al-Qurazi, with a saheeh isnad, which I have quoted in my comment on the report where it appears in the book.

These are the four things that Allah created with His hand: the Throne, the Pen, the garden of Eden, and Adam. As for all other created beings, they were created by the word “Be,” and they were.

QuizTime (12) who was/were the only babies, spoken in the Cradle?

Quiz Time (12) who was/were the only babies, spoken in the Cradle?

Ans:  There are 7 such Incidents we found in total and out of which 4 are confirmed Allhamdulillha and  rest of the 3 not confirmed by  majority of Scholars.

1)     'Esa(pbuh)

2)     A man from the Israelites (Banu Israa'eel) called Jurayj. While he was offering his prayers, his mother came and called him. He said (to himself), 'Shall I answer her or keep on praying?" (He went on praying) and did not answer her. His mother said, "O Allaah! Do not let him die till he sees the faces of prostitutes." So while he was in his hermitage, a lady came and sought to seduce him, but he refused. So she went to a shepherd and presented herself to him to commit illegal sexual intercourse with her and then later she gave birth to a child and claimed that it belonged to Jurayj. The people, therefore, came to him and dismantled his hermitage and expelled him out of it and abused him. Juraij performed ablution, offered prayer, and then came to the child and said, 'O child! Who is your father?' The child replied, 'the shepherd.'

3)     A lady from the Israelites (Banu Israa'eel) was nursing her child at her breast when a handsome rider passed by her. She said, 'O Allaah! Make my child like him.' On that the child left her breast, and facing the rider said, 'O Allaah! Do not make me like him.' The child then started to suck her breast again. (Abu Hurayrah (r.a) further said, "As if I were now looking at the Prophet(pbuh) sucking his finger (in way of demonstration.") After a while the people passed by, with a lady slave and she (i.e. the child's mother) said, 'O Allaah! Do not make my child like this (slave girl)! On that the child left her breast and said, 'O Allaah! Make me like her.' When she asked why, the child replied, 'the rider is one of the tyrants while this slave girl is falsely accused of theft and illegal sexual intercourse." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

4)     In addition to this, it is reported in the book of Imaam Muslim(r.h) that Suhayb (r.a)  narrated regarding the narration about the people of the trench: "A woman was brought to be thrown in the fire, or to disbelieve (in Allaah), and she had a suckling baby, so she lagged behind, then the baby told her: ''O, mother! Be patient, you are indeed upon the truth." Thus, with this narration, the people who spoke in the cradle are more than three.

Other Cases:

1) Ibn Hajar(r.h)   said Al-Dhahaak claimed on Prophet Yahiya (pbuh) spoken in the cradle.
[Ath-Tha'labi] If this is confirmed, then this increases the number of the children who spoke in the cradle.  &

 2) Al-Baghawee(r.h)  said: Prophet Ibrahim(pbuh) spoken in the Cradle.

(Authenticity not confirmed)

3) There is person name “Mubaarak Al-Yamaamah” He too spoken in the cradle at the time of Prophet(pbuh) but we didn’t found anywhere in the seera of the prophet written by  Ibn Kathir “Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya” and in “Ar Raheeq Al Makhtum” Written by Saifur Rahman al-Mubarakpuri. Allah knows the best.

Quiz Time (11) what was the 3 things Prophet (saw) recommended, four days before his death?

Quiz Time (11) what was the 3 things Prophet (saw) recommended, four days before his death?

Ans: 1. Jews, Christians and polytheists should be expelled out of Arabia.

          2. He recommended that delegations should be honoured and entertained, in a way similar to the one he used to do.

         3. As for the third — the narrator said that he had forgotten it. It could have been adherence to the Holy Book and the Sunnah. It was likely to be the accomplishment and the mobilization of Osamah’s army, or it could have been performance of prayers and being attentive to slaves.

FOUR DAYS BEFORE HIS DEATH:

On Thursday, four days before the death of the Messenger of Allâh (Peace be upon him), he said to people — though he was suffering from a severe pain: “Come here. I will cause you to write something so that you will never fall into error.” Upon this ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab said: “The Prophet of Allâh (Peace be upon him) is suffering from acute pain and you have the Qur’ân with you; the Book of Allâh is sufficient unto you.” Others however wanted the writing to be made. When Muhammad (Peace be upon him) heard them debating over it, he ordered them to go away and leave him alone.

In spite of the strain of disease and suffering from pain, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) used to lead all the prayers till that Thursday — four days before he died. On that day he led the sunset prayer and recited:

“By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allâh) sent forth one after another.” [77:1]

In the evening he grew so sick that he could not overcome the strain of disease or go out to enter the Mosque. ‘Aishah said: The Prophet (Peace be upon him) asked: “Have the people performed the prayer?” “No. They haven’t. They are waiting for you.” “Put some water in the washing pot.” Said he.

We did what he ordered. So he washed and wanted to stand up, but he fainted. When he came round he asked again “Have the people prayed?” Then the same sequence of events took place again and again for the second and the third tifrom the time he washed to the time he fainted after his attempts to stand up. Therefore he sent to Abu Bakr to lead the prayer himself. Abu Bakr then led the prayer during those days. They were seventeen prayers in the lifetime of Muhammad(Peace be upon him).

QuizTime(10): How Imran related to Maryam(May Allah be please with her) ?

QuizTime(10): How Imran related to Maryam(May Allah be please  with her)?

Ans: Imran was the father of Maryam(May Allah be please with her)

Imran was the father of Maryam A.S Qur'an mentions Maryam A.S's father as "Imran" Allah says in Qur'an : And the example of Maryam, the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into [her garment] through our angel, and she believed in the words of her Lord.(66:12)

Many men have reached the level of perfection, but no woman reached such a level except for Maryam, the daughter of ‘Imran, and Asia, the wife of Pharaoh.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

- “The best of the women of her time was Maryam, the daughter of ‘Imran, and the best of the women of her time was Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Prophet Zakariyah's (pbuh) wife's sister had a daughter named Hannah. She was married to Imran, a leader of the Israelites. For many years, the couple remained childless. Whenever Hannah saw another woman with a child, her longing for a baby increased. Although years had passed, she never lost hope.

She believed that one day Allah would bless her with a child, on whom she would shower all her motherly love. She turned to the Lord of the heavens and the earth and pleaded with Him for a child.

She would offer the child in the service of Allah's house, in the temple of Jerusalem. Allah granted her request. When she learned that she was pregnant, she was the happiest woman alive, and thanked Allah for His gift. Her overjoyed husband Imran also thanked Allah for His mercy.

However, while she was pregnant her husband passed away. Hannah wept bitterly. Alas, Imran did not live to see their child for whom they had so longed. She gave birth to a girl, and again turned to Allah in prayer:

"O my Lord, I have delivered a female child," and the male is not like the female, and I havenamed her Mary, and I seek refuge with You (Allah) for her and her offspring from Satan, the outcast." (Ch 3:36 Quran)

Quiz time(9): What is the alternative to ablution, when either water is not available or there is a serious danger to health?

Quiz time(9): What is the alternative to ablution, when either water is not available or there is a serious danger to health?

Ans: Tayammum (dry ablution).

(no. 347; 1/455 of Fath al-Baari) says: “ ‘It would have been sufficient for you to do this’ – then he struck the palms of his hands on the ground, then dusted them off, then wiped the back of each hand with the other, then he wiped his face with his hands.”

“O you who believe! When you intend to offer As-Salaah (the prayer), wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your heads, and (wash) your feet up to the ankles. If you are in a state of Janaaba (i.e. after a sexual discharge), purify yourselves (bathe your whole body). But if you are ill or on a journey, or any of you comes after answering the call of nature, or you have been in contact with women (i.e. sexual intercourse), and you find no water, then perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands”

[al-Maa’idah 5:6]

In al-Saheehayn it is narrated from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that he said: “The prayer of any one of you will not be accepted if he has broken wind, until he does wudoo’.” Allaah has permitted tayammum, which takes the place of wudoo’, when water is unavailable, or when one is unable to use it because of sickness, etc, because of the aayah quoted above, and because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O you who believe! Approach not As‑Salaah (the prayer) when you are in a drunken state until you know (the meaning) of what you utter, nor when you are in a state of Janaaba (i.e. in a state of sexual impurity and have not yet taken a bath), except when travelling on the road (without enough water, or just passing through a mosque), till you wash your whole body. And if you are ill, or on a journey, or one of you comes after answering the call of nature, or you have been in contact with women (by sexual relations) and you find no water, perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands (Tayammum). Truly, Allaah is Ever Oft‑Pardoning, Oft‑Forgiving”

[al-Nisa’ 4:43]

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked about a sick person who cannot find dust – can he do tayammum by striking his hands on the wall or the bed, and so on?

He replied: If the wall is built of something that comes from the earth, such as rocks or mud bricks, then it is permissible to use it for tayammum. But if the wall is covered with wood or paint, if there is any dust on it then it may be used for tayammum and there is nothing wrong with that. It is like doing tayammum on the ground, because dust particles come from the earth. But if there is no dust on it, then it is not from the earth and cannot be used for tayammum.

With regard to the bed we say, if there is dust on it, it may be used for tayammum, otherwise it should not be used for tayammum because it does not come from the earth.

End quote from Fataawa al-Tahaarah, p. 240.

Conclusion:

It is permissible to do tayammum on walls or vessels made of clay, so long as they are not painted. If they are painted, tayammum is not valid unless there is dust on them. The Muslim can put some sand in a vessel and use that for tayammum.

Quiz time (8): Who was the Sahabhi, first to recite Qur’an loud publicly before a gathering of the Quraish in Makkah?

Ans: Abdullah ibn Masud (RA).

Abdullah Ibn Masood(r.a) was the first man to recite aloud the words of the Qur’aan beforea gathering of the Quraish. The companions of the Prophet (r.a)   were together one day in Makkah. They were still few in number, weak and oppressed. They said, ‘The Quraish have not yet heard the Qur’aan being recited openly and loudly. Who is the man who could recite it for them?’ ‘I shall recite it for them,’ volunteered Abdullah Ibn Masood(r.a) . ‘We are afraid for you,’ they said. ‘We only want someone who has a clan who would protect him from their evil.’

‘Let me,’ Abdullah Ibn Masood(r.a)  insisted, ‘Allah shall protect me and keep me away from their evil.’ He then went out to the mosque until he reached Maqam Ibrahim (a landmark situated a few meters from the Kabah). It was dawn and the Quraish were sitting around the Kabah. Abdullah began to recite Surah Rahman. The Quraish looked at him intently and some of them asked, ‘What is Ibn Umm Abd saying? Damn him! He is reciting some of what Muhammad (pbuh)  brought!’

They began to slap his face but he continued reciting. When he concluded his recital, his face was covered with welts and blood. ‘By Allah,’ said Abdullah(r.a) , ‘the enemies of Allah are more uncomfortable than I am at this moment. If you wish, I shall return tomorrow and do the same.’  ‘You have done enough,’ they said. ‘You have made them hear what they dislike.’

Quiz Time (7) who was that Sahabia, was dawee & was tied on the camel for three days in a desert & Water came from Heavens for her?

Ans: Umm Shurayk ad-Dawsiyyah(R,a).

Have you heard about the pearl whose name is Umm Shurayk, may Allah be pleased with her? She was one of the early converts to Islam along with her husband. Come and attentively hear what she says. She relates her story by herself and says  When I embraced Islam, I heard a Hadeeth (narration) from the Prophet (pbuh) who does not talk from his own inclinations, in which he said: "A person who calls to something good or guidance will receive a reward equal to (the reward of) those who act accordingly, while nothing of their reward is diminished."

Therefore, she wanted to call many people to Islam so that her act would be added to the record of her righteous deeds. She wanted her scale to be heavy before the Lord of mankind. Therefore, she went into houses secretly and said to people, 'Bear witness that there is no God but Allah The Almighty and you will be successful.' She went to the house of so-and-so and said, 'Bear witness that there is no God but Allah The Almighty and you will be successful.'

'My husband's family entered upon me with their eyes full of evil, angry and snarling. They said to me, "Have you embraced the religion of Muhammad?"'

She added, "They tied me and carried me on a camel, which was the worst and harshest of their mounts. They led me to the desert.

She said, "When the days passed, I started to lose my hearing, mind and sight. On the third day, I was absolutely certain that I would die and meet the Lord of The Worlds and that I would not live until the next day.

She explained. While I was in this state, I felt the coldness of a bucket of water on my chest. Shortly thereafter I had a drink of it and then it was taken away. No sooner were my veins wetted, than I started to revive again and some of my hearing and sight returned to me. I looked to see a cloud above my head. There was a bucket hanging between the heavens and the earth. It descended again, I had a drink from it and then it was taken away. Then, I had a drink, and it was taken away. Then cold water was poured on me as if it was Paradise. This wetted my head and clothes.

Quiz Time (6) who was that Sahabiya set the condition, if He accepts Islam, his embracing Islam as her dowry & will marry him?

Ans: Umm Sulaym bint Milhan(r.a) & the Man was “Abu Talha Al-Ansari(r.a).

Abu Talha(r.a) set out for the home of Umm Sulaym. While he was on his way, he remembered hearing that Umm Sulaym had listened to the Makkan preacher, Mus'ab ibn Umayr, and had believed in Muhammad, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, and followed his religion. He shrugged the thought off, thinking it to be of no concern. Umm Sulaym's late husband had clung to the religion of his forefathers, refusing to have anything to do with Muhammad and his dawah (call).

When Abu Talha reached the home of Umm Sulaym, he asked permission to enter, and was allowed to go inside. Anas, a son of Umm Sulaym, was with her. Without hesitation, Abu Talha asked for her hand in marriage. "A man like you, Abu Talha is too good to be refused, but I will not marry you, for you are a Mushrik," (Polytheist) answered Sulaym.

Abu Talha thought that Umm Sulaym was just using this as an excuse, and that she had chosen someone wealthier than he, or from a more powerful tribe, so he asked: "Tell me the truth; why is it that you do not wish to marry me, Umm Sulaym?" "Do you think that there is another reason?" She asked. "Yellow and white i.e. gold and silver," he said. "Gold and silver!" she exclaimed. "This is what I think," he said. Then she said: "I call you to witness, Abu Talha, and I call upon Allah and His Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, to witness that if you accept Islam, I will agree to marry you, and will demand neither gold nor silver. Your Islam will be my dowry."

As soon as Abu Talha heard this from Umm Sulaym he began to think of his idol, which was made of rare and precious wood and was his personal totem, in keeping with the customs of the nobility of his tribe. Umm Sulaym wished to strike while the iron was still hot, so she continued: "Abu Talha, do you not know that this deity whom you worship instead of Allah grew out of the earth?" "Of course." He answered. "Do you not feel ashamed to be worshipping part of a tree which you have fashioned into a god, when you know that others have taken the remainder of the tree and used it for fuel with which to warm themselves or bake their bread? If you become a Muslim, Abu Talha, I will accept you as husband, and will not ask for dowry other than your acceptance of Islam." She said. "How do I go about becoming a Muslim?" he asked. "I will tell you," she answered, "You pronounce the word of truth and bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Then you go home, smash your idol, and throw it away." Abu Talha looked pleased and said: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."

Shortly afterwards, Abu Talha married Umm Sulaym. And the Muslims of Madinah said among themselves: "We have never heard of a dowry more virtuous than that of Umm Sulaym, for acceptance of Islam was what she required as her dowry!"

From that day onward, Abu Talha became a sincere adherent to the faith of Islam, and put all of his energies and abilities in the service of his religion. He was among the seventy delegates who pledged their loyalty to the Messenger of Allah at al-Aqabah, together with his wife, Umm Sulaym.
