Quiz time(5) : Two women, in spite of being the wives of prophet will go to hell. Who are they?

Ans: Wife of Nooh and Wife of Loot(peace be upon them).

The fate of the wives of Nooh and Loot (peace be upon them) is sufficient to prove that this view is mistaken, because they both went to Hell even though their husbands were Prophets.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Allaah sets forth an example for those who disbelieve: the wife of Nooh (Noah) and the wife of Loot (Lot). They were under two of our righteous slaves, but they both betrayed them (their husbands by rejecting their doctrine). So they [Nooh (Noah) and Loot (Lot)] availed them (their respective wives) not against Allaah and it was said: ‘Enter the Fire along with those who enter!’”

[al-Tahreem 66:10]

Ibn Katheer said: “Allaah says, ‘Allaah sets forth an example for those who disbelieve’ meaning, the fact that they may mix with Muslims or live among them will be of no avail to them and will not benefit them before Allaah, if faith does not enter their hearts. Then Allaah mentions the example and says, ‘the wife of Nooh (Noah) and the wife of Loot (Lot). They were under two of our righteous slaves’ meaning, two Prophets and Messengers; they were with them and in their company night and day, eating with them, being intimate with them, and interacting with them in the closest way; ‘but they both betrayed them’ means, with regard to faith and belief, because they did not share their faith or believe that they were Messengers of Allaah. So that did not help them at all and it did not ward off harm from them. Hence Allaah says, ‘So they [Nooh (Noah) and Loot (Lot)] availed them (their respective wives) not against Allaah’ meaning, because of their kufr. And it was said to both wives, ‘Enter the Fire along with those who enter!’”

(Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 4/394).

Quiz Time (4) who was that old, black woman appeared, tearing at her face, complaining loudly, when prophet conquered Makkah?

Ans:  Na’ila.

Who was she ?

Hanhal b. Isbq stated tht he was informed by Aha d-Rahic, from Ya'qiih d-qammi, quoting Jacfar b. Abn al-Mughira, from Ihn Abza, who said, "When the Messenger of God (SAAS) conquered Mecca, an old, grey-haired black woman appeared, clawing at her face and complaining loudly. The Messenger of God (SAAS) said, 'That is Na'ila;"' she is despairing that she will ever again be worshipped in your country."

The pre-Islamic goddess whose icon is said to have been positioned on Mr. Safa.

[Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya Vol 3 page 420, 4th Hadith/ paragraph]

“Jin Shaitin have appeared in her form and scratching her face & shouted at prophet (pbuh) because her idol has been destroyed and no one will worship her anymore.(  interpretation by  Me. Allah knows the best)” Quote End.

As per the Historians.

During the period of Jahiliyyah (Ignorance), a man and woman from the Yemenite tribe of Jurhum called Isaf and Na’ilah committed adultery inside the Ka’bah. Allah () turned them into stones. When they were found the next day, they were carried outside and were set up at the Ka’bah as a warning. Over time these two stones were worshipped along with the other idols. One of the stones was placed right next to the Ka’bah; the other one was set up at the spring of Zamzam. Finally, the Quraysh ordered that the stone next to the Ka’bah to be carried to the other one at Zamzam. From then on, people slaughtered their sacrificial animals at that spot.

According to the traditions of the Meccan local historian al-Azraqī, the incident happened at the time when the Arab tribe of the Jurhum ruled over Mecca. The two stones were then removed from the Kaaba and placed on the Al-Safa and Al-Marwah hills, so that the people would be warned. Over the course of time, they were then venerated as idols.

Well done! All those who got it right. May Allah increase our knowledge and bless you all. Ameen Summa Ameen. JazakAllah khairan for taking part in today’s Quiz.

QuizTime(3): Which prophet saw in his dream that "11 stars, the sun and the moon" were prostrating to him?

QuizTime(3): Which prophet saw in his dream that "11 stars, the sun and the moon" were prostrating to him?

Ans: Prophet Yusuf (Pbuh).

Its mentioned in the Qur'an.

[Of these stories mention] when Joseph said to his father, "O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me."

[Al-Qur'an ch 12 Verse 4]

The Interpretation of his Dream:

`Abdullah bin `Abbas stated that the dreams of Prophets are revelations from Allah. Scholars of Tafsir explained that in Yusuf's dream the eleven stars represent his brothers, who were eleven, and the sun and the moon represent his father and mother. This explanation was collected from Ibn `Abbas, Ad-Dahhak, Qatadah, Sufyan Ath-Thawri and `Abdur-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam. Yusuf's vision became a reality forty years later, or as some say, eighty years, when Yusuf raised his parents to the throne while his brothers were before him.

Prostration:

"And when they entered upon Joseph, he took his parents to himself and said, "Enter Egypt, Allah willing, safe [and secure]."

And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they bowed to him in prostration. And he said, "O my father, this is the explanation of my vision of before. My Lord has made it reality.

[Al-Qur'an ch 12 Verse 99-100]

(I saw (in a dream) eleven stars...) In the laws of these and previous Prophets, it was allowed for the people to prostrate before the men of authority, when they met them. This practice was allowed in the law of Adam until the law of `Isa, peace be upon them, but was later prohibited in our law. Islam made prostration exclusively for Allah Alone, the Exalted and Most Honored.

Quiz time(1): Why no revelation came to Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) for 15 days?

[hint: Didn't added a phrase]

Ans: He(pbuh) did not say “In Shaa Allah” (If Allah wills)

The Story Behind In-sha-Allah

Jewish tribes that settled in Arabia and asking them to verify the credentials of this new Prophet. The Meccans - even though they were pagans - believed that the Jews were the people of the Book and had scriptures from God. So the Jewish leaders gave the Meccans a litmus test; 3 questions they should ask the new Prophet. If he answered 2 of them and not the third, then he's a true Prophet. Otherwise he was a liar.

The Meccans were ecstatic! Finally - they thought - they could corner the Prophet and ask him questions which he won't know the answers to since he was not from the people of the Book (and was an illiterate man).

The questions were:

1. Tell us about the young men who went into the Cave

2. Tell us about a King who ruled the east and the west

3. Tell us about the Soul.

[For more details read Tafsir ibn Kathir pdf page no: 2918]

When the Prophet was asked these 3 questions. He simply replied "I'll inform you tomorrow". And he did not add the phrase “In-sha-Allah”.

“When the Prophet was asked about the story of the people of the Cave, he said, "I will tell you tomorrow. '' Then the revelation was delayed for fifteen days.”[ Tafsir Ibn Kathir page 2937]

“And never say of anything, "I shall do such and such thing tomorrow, : Except (with the saying), "If Allah will!" And remember your Lord when you forget …”[Al-Qur’an ch 18 Verse 23-24]
