QuizTime(81): Which Prophet of Allah met(on earth) maximum number of Prophets in his life time?

QuizTime(81): Which Prophet of Allah met(on earth) maximum number of Prophets in his life time?

Ans:  Isaac(Peace be upon Him).

Isaac (Peace be upon Him) met following prophets.

               1) Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) à Father

               2) Prophet Ismail (pbuh) à Brother

               3) Prophet Lut (pbuh) à cousin brother

               4) Prophet Yaqoob(pbuh)àSon

               5) Prophet Yusuf(pbuh)àGrandson

Family of Ibraaheem(pbuh).

         Other Prophets who were alive at the time of Ibraaheem (peace be upon him) were)

            Loot(pbuh)ànephew

            Ismaa’eel (pbuh)àSon

            Ishaaq, (pbuh) and àson

            Ya’qoob. (pbuh)àgrandson

 They met each other but it’s from Ya’qoob(pbuh), his son Yosuf(pbuh) blessed with  prophet hood and before Isaac(pbuh) death, Ya’qoob return to Isaac and they both lived at the place Harbon, where Ibrahim(pbuh) lived.

a    Prophet Lut(pbuh):

       “And Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."[Al-Qur’an ch 29 Verse 26]

“Allah tells us that Lut believed in Ibrahim. It was said that he was the son of Ibrahim's brother, and that his name was Lut bin Haran bin Azar. None of Ibrahim's people believed in Ibrahim besides Lut and Sarah the wife of Ibrahim”. [Tafsir ibn Kathir]

b)     Prophet Ishmael(pbuh):

       "Once more Abraham thought of visiting his family he had left at Mecca and he told his wife (Sarah) of his decision. HE went and found Ishmael behind the Zam-zam well, mending his arrows. He said: 'O Ishmael, your Lord has ordered me to build a house for Him.' Ishmael said: 'Obey the order of your Lord.' Abraham said: 'Allah has also ordered me that you should help me therein.' Ishmael said: 'Then I will do so.' So both of them were saying:

"O our Lord! Accept this service of us, verily, You are the All Hearer, the All Knower." (Ch 2:127)

c)      Prophet Ishaq(pbuh):

The Quran does not give details of Isaac's life (pbuh), but reliable Quranic commentators mentioned that when Abraham felt that his life was drawing to a close, he wished to see Isaac married. He did not want Isaac to marry one of the Canaanites, who were pagans, so he sent a trustworth servant to Haran in Iraq to choose a bride for Isaac. The servant's choice fell upon Rebekah Bint Bethuel, Ibn Nahor (who was a brother of Abraham). Isaac married her and she gave birth to a set of twins, Esau (Al Eis) and Jacob (Yaqub).

d)     Yaqoob(pbuh):

This was the advice of Abraham—as well as Jacob—to his children, ˹saying˺, “Indeed, Allah has chosen for you this faith; so do not die except in ˹a state of full˺ submission.”[Al-Qur’an ch 2 verse 132]

It might be that Ibrahim advised his children, including Jacob, Isaac's son, who were present. It appears, and Allah knows best, that Isaac was endowed with Jacob, during the lifetime of Ibrahim and Sarah, for the good news includes both of them in Allah's statement,

(But We gave her (Sarah) glad tidings of Ishaq (Isaac), and after Ishaq, of Ya`qub (Jacob)) (11:71). Also, if Jacob was not alive then, there would be no use here in mentioning him specifically among Isaac's children. Also, Allah said in Surat Al-`Ankabut, (And We bestowed on him (Ibrahim), Ishaq and Ya`qub, and We ordained among his offspring prophethood and the Book.) (29:27), and, (And We bestowed upon him Ishaq, and (a grandson) Ya`qub) (21:72), thus, indicating that this occurred during Ibrahim's lifetime. Also, Jacob built Bayt Al-Maqdis, as earlier books testified. The Two Sahihs recorded that Abu Dharr said, "I said, `O Messenger of Allah! Which Masjid was built first' He said, (Al-Masjid Al-Haram (Al-Ka`bah).) I said, `Then' He said, (Bayt Al- Maqdis.) I said, `How many years later' He said, (Forty years.)'' Further, the advice that Jacob gave to his children, which we will soon mention, testifies that Jacob was among those who received the advice mentioned in Ayat above (2:130-132).

The Sons of Ya’qoob(pbuh)

Jacob's sons were twelve men. From Leah there were Rueben (Robil), Simon (Shamun), Levi (Lawi), Judah (Yahudh), Issachar (Isakher), and Zebulun (Zablun). From Rachel there were Joseph (Yusuf) (pbuh) and Benjamin. From Rachel's slave there were Dan and Naphtali (Neftali),and from Leah's slave there were Gad and Asher.

Isaac's Death

Jacob came to his father Isaac and settled with him in the village of Hebron which lies in the land of Canaan where Abraham had lived. Then Isaac fell ill and died when he was one hundred eighty years old. his sons Esau and Jacob buried him with his father Abraham Al Khalil in a cave which he had bought. It was said that Abraham died at the age of one hundred seventy five.

Callouts:  Al-Isra' Wal-Mi'raj:  Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) led other prophets in  prayer but Al-Isra  was miracle & this was completely different than the general scenario, when we said “On Earth” which means excluding “Al-Isra’ Wal-Mi’raj”.

All those who answered as “prophet Mohammed(pbuh)” also correct but we are referring within the life span of all prophets on earth.

 Allah knows the best.
