“At length, when they came to a (lowly) valley of ants, one of the ants said: "O ye ants, get into your habitations, lest Solomon and his hosts crush you (under foot) without knowing it."[Al-Qur’an ch 27 Verse 18]

 

Sulayman (peace be upon him) understood what the ant said,

 

“So he smiled, amused at her speech and said: "My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your favors which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You,)”[Al-Qur’an ch 27 Verse 18]

 

 Meaning: `inspire me to give thanks for the blessings that You have bestowed upon me by teaching me to understand what the birds and animals say, and the blessings that You have bestowed upon my parents by making them Muslims who believe in You.'[Tafsir ibn Kathir]

 

Verbal communication skills includes:

 

 

• Advising others regarding an appropriate course of action.

 

In this verse the Ant not just talking/ communicating but advising other ants to take appropriate action to save yourself. SubhanAllah !

Scientists have discovered that ants routinely talk to each other in their nests with the queen ants issuing instructions to their workers. Scientists used miniaturised microphones and speakers, unobtrusively inserted into nest to make the first recordings of queen ants “speaking” to each other.

In the past, some people would have probably mocked at the Qur’an, taking it to be a book of fairy tales in which ants talk to each other and communicate sophisticated messages. This scientific fact mentioned in the Qur’an 1400 ago, which science discovered recently. Indeed Qur’an is the word of Allah, the creator of everything.
